Got my hands on a Weltklang tenor from the 70s. I'm really surprised how lush the lower end of this particular horn sounds. Fun to play.

A rare beast, definitely. And quite heavy. I didn't trust the strap and had it positioned on the ground. And since I used a baritone mpc, it took some time getting accustomed to it. Michael Ausserbauer, saxophone BL type mpc, about #120 Fibracell medium reed

A Weltklang alto from the 70s in pretty good shape. Buildt like a tank. It has a very clear and distinct voice, quite different from modern horns. Ergonomics are quite good. Michael Ausserbauer: saxophone MPC: Zinner #5 Reed: Rico Plasticover #3.5

I am Santy Runyon's 3rd daughter. I grew up helping him make mouthpieces from a early age. He and I would play duets together ,he on the sax and I on the Clarinet. It's good to hear saxophone music. ❤🎼🎼🎼
Hi Barbara, thank you so much for your comment. It's an honor for me. Santy was a legend. There are lots of vids where I play Runyon mpcs. I use a Quantum Delrin on my Bari for gigs and a red Custom on Soprano most of the time. And I got another Custom #18 (yes, that's eighteen) for tenor which was especially made for me. And a Bionix for alto which is one of the craziest pieces I've ever played. These are all among the best mpcs I've ever seen. And I'm sad that Runyon mpcs aren't around anymore. hi! Do you know what is the difference between Vandoren Jumbo Java T97 and T95, is there big difference? I am asking because i could not find T97 anywhere to buy. I have bought T95 recently for my alto and i really like how it sounds.
@@emilzet6086 Hi, T97 has a bigger Tip opening, about .136. It is no more available as nobody wanted to play these big openings.

Hi again. In my Borgani tenor in second octave the tuning goes up around 20 cents, specially in first part of the scale. I have bought this tenor recently and previous owner have drilled bigger holes in both octave vents. I just having new octave vents fixed on the sax and sax mechanic told me that he fixed the lower one and there is just little difference in tuning. What could be the reason that there is 20 cents difference between octaves? What else could be the problem, or this is normal in old saxophones ? 🙂 Mine looks older that yours on the video, it has different looking neck.
Hi, hard to tell from a distance. Could be a neck that was replaced, could be (often!) the height of the keys. And the old horns generally tended to be a bit more wild concerning consistency of tuning.

Hi, the new Borganis are still some very good sounding horns. Some say there are issues with build quality, but the ones I tried were fine instruments.

What is the weight of the saxophone case and the dimensions of it in cm? Nice playing!
Hi Lars, I cant't answer this question correctly, as I don't have this horn anymore. But the case was like any other baritone case. Not too heavy. And it had small wheels, which was quite useful.

Ouvi a respeito da dificuldade de afinar sax vintage com boquilhas modernas, teve dificuldade quanto a isso? Vou experimentar uma Otto Link STM e um Theo Wanne Durga 1.
Hi, Im answering in English as my Spanish is really bad 😞 I tried the Zephyr with different mouthpieces and tuning was fine with all of them. There should not be a problem. I personally don't like the Links. Most of them are rather stuffy and dull. And they are quite inconsistent - you never know what you get. I would give the Theo Wanne a try though. They are fine MPCs. Hope that helps.
